The challenge

The solution

Ampelmann selected Smart HMI’s WebIQ platform, paired with 13” Panel PC hardware, to build a new generation of system HMIs. The solution includes:

  • WebIQ software: A low-code, web-based HMI development environment that enables rapid application creation with modern UI/UX design
  • PanelPC hardware: Industrial-grade 13” touch panels optimized for offshore environments
  • Custom engineering tools: Including OPC Siemens connectivity and scripted engineering resources for streamlined integration

The result is a modular HMI system now deployed on eight machines, managing over 400 I/O points and 1,500 OPC tags across 10 dynamic screens. The system supports real-time video feeds, intuitive diagnostics, and responsive alarm handling, enhancing operational awareness and safety for offshore personnel.
