The industrial communication protocol OPC UA plus innovative web technology is a winning team being the foundation for outstanding Web HMI´s. This is exactly the reason, why we put the focus in our new release WebIQ 2.8 on the interaction between the OPC UA Server, your control and our visualization system.

What do we now concretely offer in our new release WebIQ 2.8 concerning OPC UA functionalities?

First of all we made the configuration of the connection with the OPC UA Server much more easy: just fill in the URL -and you are done.

Secondly you are automatically „live“ on your OPC UA server.

And advantage number three: you are now able to use the new OPC UA browser. Just brows through your OPC UA structure, which is now directly provided by your control. Furthermore we make a much more easy integration of your needed process variables for your HMI project possible. With just „one click“, you can now activate them for your specific application in WebIQ.

And which new desing functionalities offers WebIQ 2.8?

Our family of smart IQ Widgets has grown further since our last release

• our new IQ Widgets: for instance the new IQ Slider, IQ Linear Gauge, IQ Quality Display, to complete our potential applications and styling functionalities
• and overall we are offering a whole range of new styling features to give you endless potential for design of Web HMI´s

The Smart HMI Developer team is particularly proud to present the new technical capabilities to be able to apply gradients in your HMI design. This is just another attractive styling option for your HMI with WebIQ.

Additonal Design features are following „minor highlights“ in the new WebIQ 2.8 Release: for instance the IQ buttons have advanced features like „onpress“, „onrelease“ or „onwhilepress“ to realize safety-relevant functions like by example JOG in your machine. Very exciting is also the new HTML-Widget, which enables you to directly embed HTML Code into your HMI.

Also new is the the Widget IQ Alarm List. It is a member of our existing family of IQ Widgts and offers various layout versions. Most important: the new IQ Alarm list widget unites the until now separated „Alarm List“ and „Alarm History“. This provides you the distinct benefit of an easy configuration of what you would like to display: historic, current or mixed data. Essential is the option within the new Alarm List to integrate support documentation via links into your alarm message. By doing so it is ensured, that you can immediately start to correct any error. That was a frequently asked demand from many of our customers. Our Smart HMI Developer Team was happy to react and put it into practice. Here we go.

Even though some of the new features might not be visible at first glance, but you will feel the difference quite quickly:

• for instance the new edit of the configuration and styling cockpits in our „WebIQ Desinger“ plus new container functionalities („Disable Flex for all Children“) for lay outing
• for for example the loading and publishing of your HMI projects will be so much faster from now on
